About Innate Wisdom Psychiatry & Wellness
Daniel Plastino
MSN, APN, PMHNP-BC
I am passionate about practicing behavioral health using a trauma informed, integrative psychiatric approach to wellness. I am a board certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who blends conventional treatments such as medication management and supportive therapy, with complementary practices like somatic and mindfulness techniques, supplementation, and lifestyle/self care strategies like nutrition, exercise, sleep hygiene, bodywork education, and pain reduction. I seek to treat the whole person and discover root causes rather than simply managing symptoms.
I received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology and Anthropology at McGill University. After deciding to pursue a career in medicine, I earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and a Master’s of Science in Nursing in mental health from The University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, I am a Licensed Massage Therapist, although not currently practicing. I am nationally board certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center, licensed in the state of Colorado, and have over 13 years of combined nursing and advanced practice experience in medicine and psychiatry.
I place great importance on the development of a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, active listening, empathy, and collaboration. I strive to help create a safe space for healing where we will work together toward your treatment goals. I approach care with an attitude of respect, curiosity, and openness, honoring your individual needs and choices. We will aim to foster adaptability, personal accountability, resilience, growth, and empowerment to help you thrive. If this resonates, please reach out. I look forward to speaking with you!
What is Innate Wisdom?
We believe that people have an inner intelligence that allows them to move towards growth and healing.
Similar to how a seed strives to become a plant, this capacity is always present, but it may be hindered by environmental conditions or experience.
Learning how to trust this innate wisdom allows for more harmony between physical, mental, and emotional/spiritual health.
We are here to guide and support you through this process of discovery and healing.
