What is the initial intake process like?

If you have any questions about our services, please reach out to info@innatewisdompsych.com. In order to schedule, please book online on the website. Once an appointment request is submitted, we will review the information you provide and schedule the appointment if appropriate. You will then receive an email and text from Innate Wisdom Psychiatry & Wellness welcoming you to the practice, confirming your appointment, and providing you with a link to the Osmind app and the admission paperwork. Please fill this out before your first appointment. After this, we will meet for an intake appointment which is one hour. Subsequent follow ups (30 min) will be scheduled as needed, typically intervals between 1 week-6 months depending on severity of symptoms.

Do you do telehealth?

Yes! We do telehealth using the HIPPA compliant Zoom platform. You must be a resident of Colorado as well as physically located in Colorado in order to participate in your telehealth appointment. You will receive an email and text message from Innate Wisdom Psychiatry & Wellness confirming your scheduled appointment, which includes the link to the telehealth session. You can use this to join our session. For our policy on telehealth and controlled substances see below.

If I was a patient at Daniel’s previous practice, which appointment type should I choose?

Please select a new patient appointment. This is a one hour appointment where we will review your current symptoms, history, medications, and treatment plan. Please fill out all admission paperwork as if you are a new patient. This is important to transfer care to the new practice.

How do I contact you ?

For questions about services before you become a patient of the practice, please contact us at info@innatewisdompsych.com or by using one of the many contact forms on our website. If you go on to become a patient of the practice, you will then utilize the Osmind patient portal to message and speak directly to your provider. You will get a link from Innate Wisdom Psychiatry & Wellness via phone and email to sign up once your appointment has been scheduled. You can also access the patient portal here or use the login link in the website navigation bar at the top and bottom of the page.

What is your policy on controlled substances?

All patients are required to sign a controlled substance agreement upon admission that outlines our policies.

After a thorough evaluation, if it is determined controlled substances are indicated as part of your treatment plan, then we will work together to find the lowest dose and appropriate frequency required to achieve optimal symptom reduction. Currently, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) have extended the telemedicine flexibilities that were put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic until December 31st, 2024. These flexibilities allow for a new patient to receive controlled substance prescriptions without an initial in person consultation. Therefore, telehealth can be utilized for new patient evaluations where controlled substances may be prescribed (for example, ADHD, Panic Disorder, Insomnia). We are watching these changes closely and will adjust our policies accordingly. It should be noted that we do require in person visits for those receiving ketamine prescriptions.

Generally, our practice philosophy emphasizes using benzodiazepines only sparingly, as needed. Additionally, we do not prescribe daily psychostimulants and benzodiazepines together (i.e. 30 day supplies).

Lastly, although we often treat clients who have multiple disorders, including substance use, we are not primarily an addiction psychiatry clinic nor do we provide Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) with Suboxone. If you are in the active phase of addiction, then our ability to prescribe psychiatric medications may be limited. If you would like a referral to an addiction psychiatry provider or an outpatient/inpatient substance abuse rehab, please reach out to info@innatewisdompsych.com.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time . You can cancel in three different ways: (1) by opening the booked appointment on Google Calendar and clicking cancel. (2) If you use a third-party calendar, you can cancel your appointment from your google confirmation email. (3) You can RSVP “no” to your google calendar invitation. If you would like to reschedule your appointment please do so here on the website.

Cancellations, rescheduling, or a no show within 24 hours of the appointment will be charged a missed appointment fee to the credit card on file. These fees are outlined in the fee schedule in the admission paperwork. Insurance will not cover these fees.
